Lake Tahoe and Tahoe City Travelodge lies in the center of the largest recreational area of Lake Tahoe, including activities such as snow and water skiing, golfing, tennis, boating and lake cruises, rafting, fishing, ice skating, rock climbing, mountain biking and horseback riding. Our guests can walk to most of the recreational activities. They can bask in the pool, Lakeview spa or sauna, play a round of golf on the Tahoe City Golf Course which is adjacent to the Travelodge, walk across to the Commons Beach which has a playground, swimming area, boating and water-skiing. You will discover within walking distance, 3 unique shopping malls such as the Swiss-village inspired Cobblestone Mall, the all-wood, Boat works, or the former narrow-gauge railroad Roundhouse Marina. Numerous restaurants are within walking distance and provide a wide range of places to relax and gaze at the beautiful Lake Tahoe. You need to drive only 10 minutes to the tram (Summer or Winter) at the Squaw Valley USA Ski Area, site of the 1950 Olympic Winter Games and only one of 15 Alpine ski areas and eleven cross-country ski areas that can be reached in a short time. Other interesting areas include Ponderosa Ranch (of Bonanza TV fame), Donner Memorial Museum, Emerald Bay, Virginia City Mining town and North Shore and Reno casinos, all within 20 to 45 minutes driving time. The North Shore area has an "Old Tahoe" feel with stately mansions in the woods, expansive white beaches and the scenery that dots North Lake Tahoe's shoreline is as varied as the wildlife you'll find - an excellent place to spend a relaxing vacation. Take Interstate 5 South until you reach Interstate 80 where you should take I-80 East towards Reno, Nevada. Proceed on I-80 approximately 80 miles until you go down the East side of Donner Pass. Just before you reach Truckee, you should take US-89 South towards Squaw Valley and Tahoe City. After about 13 miles on US-89 South, you will come to a stop light at the intersection of highways 89 and 28. Go straight ahead for about 300 yards, and you will find the Travelodge on the left, directly across from beautiful Lake Tahoe.

Take Interstate 80 towards Reno, Nevada. Stay on I-80 (do not take US-50), passing Sacramento on the North until you pass over the Donner Summit. Just before you reach Truckee, you should take US-89 South towards Squaw Valley and Tahoe City. Taking Interstate 5 North from Southern California, proceed past US-50 and Sacramento to Interstate 80 East, towards Reno, Nevada. Take US-395 North from Las Vegas or Southern California, you will stay on I-395 until you reach Carson City, Nevada, where you will take US-50 West towards Lake Tahoe. Just after passing over Spooner Summit, take Highway 28 North towards Incline Village. Stay on Highway 28, passing through Incline Village and Kings Beach and you will come to the Travelodge at Tahoe City, directly across from beautiful Lake Tahoe.
